In this personal project that Delgado created back in 2019, titled "JAZZ", to me is a great display of his creativity when blending principles of Pop art and typography to create a visually striking composition. Using a photograph of a young woman as the subject of the work, she becomes the focal point to which the text is anchored to, or should I say, merges with the image itself. True to his geometric roots, the rest of the composition, besides the face, uses geometric shapes and many angular shapes. The text 'JAZZ' is used to form the woman's hair. The design and the arrangement of the text imitate the popular sculpted afro or geometric hair high top fade that was a popular hairstyle in black American communities in the late 80's to 90s.

The shape edges of the words mimic those silhouettes. The bold contrasts of the colours of the background, yellow orange with the light blue of her face and the stark black of her overall silhouette, make the subject pop while also helping to clearly define the shapes of the subject and the counters and negative space in and around the letters, making the letterforms more clear and concise while still making a creative composition.
